It's no secret that the US military has a recruiting problem. Many reputable news sources are reporting that their numbers, for various reasons, are down below 50% capacity.  As a technology leader, I believe that Virtual recruiting, also known as “recruitment marketing” or “online recruitment”, is a viable way to reach out to potential recruits in an efficient and cost-effective manner. It involves using digital marketing tools such as social media, email campaigns, online advertising, and virtual connection platforms like Huvr.com to target your desired audience. While virtual recruiting has many advantages, it also carries some risks that must be taken into consideration before using this method of recruiting. Let’s take a look at the pros and cons of virtual recruiting for the military.

Pros of Virtual Recruiting
One of the biggest advantages of virtual recruiting is that it allows you to reach a much larger audience than traditional methods. With so many people already on social media platforms like Facebook and Twitter, you can easily get your message across to more potential recruits than ever before. Plus, you can use different targeting techniques to ensure that you are reaching out only to those who are interested in joining the military. Additionally, virtual recruiting is highly cost-effective since there are no travel costs involved or physical materials needed for distribution.

Another benefit of virtual recruiting is that it allows for greater flexibility in terms of timing and location. You can send emails at any time of day or night, making it easier to connect with potential recruits who may not have been available during normal business hours. Finally, virtual recruiting gives you access to real-time analytics which can be used to track engagement levels with potential recruits and make necessary adjustments in order to maximize results.

With the Huvr.com platform, recruiters can schedule live virtual demonstrations of career fields that have a need to be filled, such as a Load master, to show recruits in real time exactly what the profession does in a given day.

Cons of Virtual Recruiting
While there are certainly benefits associated with virtual recruiting, there are some drawbacks as well. One issue is that it can be difficult to verify the authenticity of online applications since they don’t require face-to-face interviews or physical documentation. This means that recruiters must be diligent about screening applicants thoroughly before advancing them through the recruitment process. Additionally, if your messaging isn’t properly targeted or engaging enough then potential recruits will not respond positively – potentially turning them away from joining altogether! Lastly, there is always the risk that hackers may gain access to personal data if security protocols aren’t followed correctly when collecting information from potential recruits online.

Virtual recruiting has become increasingly popular among military organizations looking for new recruits due its cost effectiveness and ability to reach a larger pool of people quickly and efficiently. However, there are some risks associated with using this form of recruitment including verifying authenticity of applications and protecting against cyber threats when collecting personal data online. Ultimately though, the pros outweigh the cons when it comes to virtual recruitment – making it a great choice for those looking for new members in their ranks!

That’s why. at Huvr.com, we are pushing forward with new tools to help the military in their recruiting efforts. Keep in mind also that new technology like Huvr will not effect divisive policy issues that may be hindering recruiting numbers. But what it can do, it do connect potential recruits directly to exciting careers fields right through their mobile device to get them excited and talking about the benefits of serving your country. And as a Gulf War Veteran myself... I would know first hand about those benefits.
