Speaking Point: Last Thursday, Brits voted 51 / 48 to leave the European Union. The Brexit vote is similar to America’s own presidential race. A vocal minority in the UK claim Britain’s exit from the EU would spell disaster, similar to the Trump naysayers.
Anyone saying the Brexit is a bad idea is making one catastrophic assumption: the EU is fundamentally sound. The EU is not, and anyone supporting the Brexit vote knows Britain must jump ship before being sucked down.
To save itself, Britain needed to leave the EU now. The Brexit referendum was the UK’s only chance to free itself from the ailing EU, and the British people seized this opportunity for freedom. Yes, markets are reacting negatively in the short term, but, like the first person to abandon ship on the Titanic.
Speaking Point: Back on this side of the pond, Donald Trump stands for the same principles as the “vote leave” campaign: improve small businesses, develop long term economic stability, and strength the nation’s sovereignty.
Speaking Point: The mainstream media said Britain would not vote “leave,” but Britain did. The same mainstream media said Trump could never win the GOP nomination, but he did. If the UK can vote to leave the EU, can America vote for Donald Trump? I think so. I believe the American people will seize the opportunity to steer our nation in the right direction, just as Brits did with their country.
