The Best Dates for $20 or Less

Speaking Point: If you're looking to impress, dinner and a movie will make more of an impact on your wallet than your date. With a little bit of creativity, it's easy to have a cheap date without looking like one. If you suspect she might be a gold-digger, don't try this at home, but a great girl will give you bonus points for being inventive and unique and she never even needs to know that you only dropped a 20 on her.

Speaking Point: See: Many museums have “free days” where you can enter at no cost. Usually it’s a little busier than other days but that just means your date will have to snuggle up close to you to get to see the exhibit. You don’t have to tell them that you knew about the free day just say “Hey, want to go to the modern art museum on Wednesday.” Play it off as a surprise, whatever you need to do but as long as it doesn’t seem pre-meditated. Sometimes these museums take donations instead of charging a specific amount. Even if you give a “generous” $10 donation you’ll still pay less than admission for two but you’ll look like a philanthropist…very sexy.

Speaking Point: Run: Emphasize how into fitness and/or the outdoors you are and invite them to go on a hike with you. After the hike you can surprise your date with a pre-packed picnic basket and blanket and turn the day into a romantic outdoor retreat.

Speaking Point: Play: Nothing lets your guard down on a date like doing something that you know is ridiculous and childish. Try mini golf, laser tag, or a water park

Speaking Point: Create: One of my favorite dates with my husband we bought a bunch of cheap art supplies, laid out a bunch of newspapers and just let it flow. The best part was that we had gifts for one another and mementos of the date when we were done.

Speaking Point: Listen: Many places like museums, parks, and libraries offer special free concerts to enjoy outdoors before the weather gets cold. Hear some new music over a bottle of wine and dance the night away.

Speaking Point: Help: A new trend in travel is voluntourism where you go on vacation with the intent of also helping others in the area. So why not volunteer dating? Help someone in need and show your date what a great guy you are.
