Thoughts on Revolution

Some may strongly disagree with me on this but that's okay...in fact, it's a good thing as challenging each other lovingly helps us all grow. isn't that a cool American trait! In this moment hundreds of thousands of people in New York and now in several US cities are expressing their frustration with the business as usual tactic that pervades our large corporations and government. And quite frankly I find them inspiring! You know I always bring things back to health and this is exactly what we need to do in this moment. Often we let other people control our lives and make decisions for us, decisions that lead us down harmful paths. When someone stands up and says "This is my life! It's not okay what's happening and I'm putting a stop to it now." I want to stand up and cheer them on.

If we look at the USA as a human body we can see a body that has allowed and encouraged self abuse. It poisoned itself with chemicals, polluted its vital organs (our rivers, streams, and land), and denied the problem. The USA is like an addict that is hopefully about to hit bottom and sober up. Its ignored the disease of poverty and ignorance growing inside itself and even fostered the delusional tactic that the act of ignoring the problem will make it go away. A friend of mine who is a devout Capitalist said to me recently that business is, "....here to make money for it's shareholders. That is what a corporation is supposed to do." he's right...and that's the problem. To him, whether or not a business is socially or environmentally responsible "...isn't important". Somehow I learned a very different purpose and definition of business. I believe that business supposed to make the world a better place, supposed to create a betterment in the wold, supposed to serve the people who are it's customers and the people who work for it. It's a business serves us and not a we serve business attitude.

The American "body" is sick and expressing the fundamental demand of life to get back into alignment with being healthy. We have moved out of health and into dis-ease and I'm grateful for the protestors who are sending a clear message to the body that something needs to be done. Now, we have a choice. Do we make it wrong and bad and further harm the body by a "business as usual" tactic and cut it out, drug it, shame it, and so forth in hopes that it will go away? Or do we take a holistic loving approach that embraces the whole Self and does things to nurture the body so it can heal. The media and police are causing further harm to the American body by creating a black-out of information and physically harming those who are asking for another way of doing things. The "canary in the coal" mine is dying and are we going to do anything about it? A holistic approach would require truly looking at the problem, even loving the problem, nurturing the part of ourselves that needs care; feeding it healthy water, food, love so that it can bring the rest of the body back into alignment with it's natural state of wellness.

It's not about picking a side and pointing fingers. It's about letting go of the victim mentality on both sides, taking responsibility for exactly where we are and what we've become, and creating a strategy for healing that comes from a place of love and involves the whole person (every member and level of society). In this moment the person isn't in charge...the addict is in charge. the corporations and leaders within government that are serving the bottom dollar and not the PEOPLE of the world. The addiction to control, to serving the shareholders, to raping the world to create a temporary profit, to thinking in old worn out ways that are comfortable and yet abusive to ourselves; these are the behaviors of self abuse and an unhealthy body. We are like the cigarette/drug addict that knows they have a problem but refuses to deal with it and goes on a binge indulging in the abuse because they can't deal with the truth that's in front of them. The first step towards healing is taking responsibility for exactly who you are, letting go of being the victim, and taking charge of your life. Are you ready to stand up for yourself? Are you read to stand up for a country that works for the entire system of the body, recognizing that we are all part of the same whole and therefore all valuable and necessary to the health of the whole?
